If you've found your way here, you may already know that my name is Bill and I enjoy writing songs about God. If you did not know that, well now you do. I hope to be faithful with the songs I write. I'm not sure I know how to do that, but I think this website is a start. It contains the lyrics, chord charts, mp3's, even the stories behind the songs. And it is all free to you. So look around. Enjoy. And thanks for stopping by.

Gain

download chord chart // download mp3

(verse 1)
I’ve tasted and seen how good is the Lord
I’ve tasted and seen, now I adore (repeat)

(pre-chorus)
The best of this life is
Loss next to the bliss
Of knowing just Him…of knowing just Him

(chorus)
Christ is my only gain
In death or life, my only gain

(verse 2)
Oh my God, what good would it be
To gain the world and not have Thee (repeat)

If I had a mantra that I lived by, it would be this song. When I turned 18, one of the first things I did was get a tattoo of Philippians 3:8...

"What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ."

This song is obviously influenced by that verse in Philippians. But, in a way, every song I write is influenced by that verse in Philippians.
